What are the benefits of spray foam?

spray foam attic insulationSpray Foam is a high-end attic insulation which is sprayed on the roof of your attic instead of the floor. There are grants available for spray foam insulation too.

Spray foam insulation has been proven to be more efficient than any other forms of insulation including fiberglass, cellulose, rock wool etc. This type of spray foam is also very easy to install as it comes with a hose attachment that shoots out at high pressure. Spray Foam is an excellent choice if you are looking for long term results and maximum energy efficiency. Spray foam insulation works by spraying into an attic space which expands as it sets to create a blanket for warmth retention and also provides excellent moisture protection for your roof.

What are the benefits of roll out insulation?

Similar to spray foam insulation, roll out insulation will lock the heat in your home.  Roll out insulation is usually placed on the floor of the attic space and has a great u-vale of 0.16 by using 300mm of insulation. The other benefit is that it can be used with existing rafters if you have any concerns about adding more load onto them.

How much will attic insulation cost?

The price of attic insulation varies depending on the size of the area that needs to be insulated and the dept of spray foam that you require.  On average, a complete spray foam insulation job will cost between €1,500 and €2,500. However, if you  qualify for grants for attic insulation or if you have been approved for funding then your cost could be a lot lower.
